Brothers: Yesterday I was in conversation with 2 ex-Episcopal priests and Fr. Amos of Cana. We were planning an "Advance" (not a retreat) in which we will attempt to broaden our referral and information networks with a view to making more people of Indiana aware of the existence of "continuing" churches and evangelists willing to aid in planting new churches. The theme of the "Advance" is "Jesus Christ, the Way the Truth and the Life." We have invited persons from area "continuing churches" to attend a day of workshops, study and prayer. In the course of our discussion, the subject of the future of the Anglican Communion came up. None of us expect ECUSA to change or the Lambeth "first world" bishops to do more than study. The two thirds world Anglicans may well provide an alternative to Lambeth. The First Things article by Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi, Bishop Primus of Uganda, makes it clear that what American Anglicans call the "Third World" is serious. If the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Other Bishops of the Anglican Communion fail to discipline ECUSA, Canterbury will have lost the majority of the Anglican Communion. The fact is, most Anglicans no longer look to Canterbury for spiritual guidance. HEBREWS 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Hebrews 13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. Here are links to the recent First Things Article and to older articles on the same theme.
