The response to my quick review of the AMiA prayer book and the word "quick" is important was well received. Thank you. DH+

Far be it to imply 1662 = protestant, while 1928 = catholic. Agreed it is, on it's face, a fallacy.

My points were not well expressed. Of course, if the purpose of the AMiA book is merely to provide a modern translation of the 1662, then one could expect to find no more party sympathies within the modern version than one could find in the original. Agreed.

That said, I repeat, this edition, while faithful to orthodoxy and faithful to the 1662 Anglican tradition, holds no particular allure to my heart.

I also repeat, I find it's lack of classic Anglican pentameter off putting, it's publishing layout screams "low budget affair", and it's decision to be nothing more than a modern translation of the 1662 of little enticement personally. I remain quite unsure as to what contribution this little book makes.
