Father Rennie Coates was a dear friend of mine. His secular career was greatly varried. Among other things he was a Vaudaville performer, and a traveling salesman. In fact, he was a super salesman. After retirement, he realized his life long vocation to the priesthood. Wherever he went , he invited people to church and many came and joined St. Peter's in Deerfield Beach, FL. Rennie had a salty humor, and sized up people quickly; especially some of the wolves that climbed into the window of the Continuing Church. In his last years he was sent to St. Mark's in Vero and brought together a then divided mission. At one time, he literally died while driving on a highway. He told me he then pleaded with the Lord to send him back and he came to on a hospital table. He was an inspiring man. I hope the Lord will allow him to see the dedication of the new St. Mark's building. In JMJ, Kenneth+
