Mike+, I think if you try to categorize Wright+ according to old schools of thought, you'll get yourself in a bind, especially as he believes that Paul has been consistently misread at least since Luther. While I am not well-versed enough in non-Anglican Reformation thought to pass judgement on their use of Paul, at the very least, their failure to understand Judaism on its own terms makes their use of Paul problematic. When it comes to salvation, though, I'm not sure that Wright leans towards Arminianism. I don't have the book with me at home (where I am now), but in his lectures he stated quite clearly that if you ackowledge the lordship of Jesus Christ, believe that the Father raised him from the dead, and have been baptized then you are assured that you are among God's People and therefore will be glorified at the Second Coming. He puts a lot of weight on the verse from Phil. (?) where St. Paul declares that the work that was begun in us will be brought to its fruition. In his view, the closest Paul comes to saying that one can fall away from salvation is in 1 Corinthians when he warns them to watch out lest those who think they stand, instead fall. Mark+
