Well put.  If we know that Christ really is present in the sacrament,
why wouldn't he be equally present in his Scriptures?  Basil Pennington
(or it could be William Menninger or Thomas Keating -- I don't remember
right off), in describing the chapel in his monastery, says that there
is a red sanctuary lamp above the Bible on the lectern.  It's there
because of the "real presence" of Christ in the Scriptures.  Good stuff,
huh?
