> Again we are in debt to Dean Scott for posting this but of course 40
years ago one of our caveats to the then Green Book-now Blue Book of
Common Prayer (1979) is just as he said. Actually canada will not
provide us with too much direct comparative help because their system is
so much different and while unfortunately courts are beginning to play
USSC (complete with almost exclusively nonCanadian citations in the
briefs filed) to date they have not overturned a law passed by the High
Court of Parliament in Ottawa. I think that we have to be very discreet
and very careful in prioritising our concerns. We have only so much
ammunition. Ipersonally lookupon all thois as an window of opportinity
to review what we believe about 'sexuality' and also what thse judicial
rulings may provide for us in terms of opportunity for authentic
evangelism. I want to commend to all of your the RC programme "COURAGE"
which deals with the issues of homosexuality and has much material and
FAQ etc. It is good stuff and very helpful. There are already defacto
'gay marriages' in many places besides Vermont. That is a fact. And a
good thing came out of all this: The USSC threw out the extra legal
California law that suspended the statute of limitations for one crime
and one crime only-alleged child abuse/molestation. This may help our RC
brethren who have come into the cross hairs of the cabal against the
Church. You will also be please to know that the Bishop of Cyprus and
the Gulf went to Baghdad last week and said Mass in StGeorge's Church
there (sans windows). He is still looking for apriest who is fluent in
Arabic to take the living. Any takers? I understand the pay is about
18,000 pounds a year (1.65=$1.oo US). Blessings and Happy Dominion Day
2003 to any Canadians who might be in this chat room. The Maple Leaf
Forever, eh? Blessings. GDVW+
