LECTIO DIVINA verbum abbreviatum

In an accompanying post under the title Lectio Divina verbum abbreviatum there is a discussion by Fr. Casey of the time required for Christian formation through reading of Scripture and prayer.

I awoke at 4 A.M. thinking of this particular subject and of the time it took St. Peter to arrive at some understanding of his confession (Mat 16:16). In that half-dream half waking state, a title came to me to use as the title for this section of Lectio Divina.
Instead of verbum abbreviatum, I had intended to put the subject as "The Triumph of the Holy Spirit."

As Fr. Casey indicates, the formation of Christian Character takes time, but it is certain as the Spirit accomplishes its work in our lives.
