Gee, Gordo, with irenic statements like this one I'm sure our proposed marriage is going to go off swimmingly! What Wayne meant is exactly what it sounded like -- whether or not to practice paedocommunion is left up to the option of each parish in the REC. As a general rule, most of the newer parishes do (but not exclusively) and a good number of the younger clergy (such as the undersigned) are paedocommunionists. Here in the Charleston (South Carolina) area it is not as widely practiced. If the parish that you visited was in Western Canada, there may well have been a charismatic element, more than many in the REC (including myself) are completely comfortable with. If you were to come to Charleston, where the parishes are predominately black, you may also find a few things that are not to your liking as well, the music being chief among them. I am white and was raised high-church Presbyterian and as such tend to prefer more traditional hymns (such as would be found in most Anglican/Episcopal parishes). That having been said, I have come to love the music in the parishes of the lowcountry as it is a very real part of Southern culture and a valid part of the Anglican tradition -- especially interesting since the future of Anglicanism and indeed Christianity in general lies not in England nor the Americas but in Africa and Asia.
