> Dear "Chuck": Relationships, especially marriages, must begin with
100%transparency and frank exchange of views if they are to have a
chance of success. I have never understood why this is so threatening to
some people. I agree that the folk-music of the Old South is a unique
part of the historical society and doubtless has its place in the larger
community-but not at Mass! I endured far too many years of 'Kumbaya'!
I've heard (inter alia) of high Church Unitarians (I know one
inPortlkand, Oregon)but 'high Church Presbyterian' is a new one. I
checked with a convert of mine whose father was a Presbyterian minister.
It was new to him too. While the growth of the Anglican branch in Africa
is interesting I do not think it should set the norm-for anything. My
preference is for the Anglican Church in Korea.Their worship is truly
solemn, sincere and very English. Eastern Orthodoxy is growing in North
America because while they make accomodation for the vulgar tongue (what
a phrase) they donot give over to the zeitgeist-doubtless remembering
what Dean Inge had to say about that. And isn't 'soli dei gloria' a
Lutheran phrase? Blessings. GDVW+
Gee,
Gordo, with irenic statements like this one I'm sure our proposed
