Gordo, I go by Drew, not Chuck, but if that's your preference, then by all means go for it. You'll not find "Mass" refered to by that name in the REC parishes in South Carolina as we celebrate the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion or, often, Morning Prayer. I am aware that it's a valid term used by, among others, Luther, but many of us have the same reaction to it that you do to the term "Baptismal Covenant." I have never heard 'Kumbaya' sung in an REC parish and share your distate of it. That having been said, what you hear in the Charleston area REC parishes is not 'Kumbaya,' it's the music that has evolved among these brethren over several centuries. Soli Deo Gloria is a Reformed term, used by a number of folks (although the Lutherans enjoyed it to). As a Reformed Christian who happens to be an Anglican, it is my standard sign-off. Soli Deo Gloria! Drew P.S. In my earlier post I stated that the future of Anglicanism as well as Christianity in general is not in the Americas. I should have phrased that North America as the Church is doing quite well in the Southern Cone. >From: <gdvw@...> >Reply-To: faithandlife@... >To: <faithandlife@...> >Subject: RE: [FaithandLife] interesting link >Date: Sat, 23 Aug 2003 16:50:04 -0000 (GMT) > > > Dear "Chuck": Relationships, especially marriages, must begin with >100%transparency and frank exchange of views if they are to have a >chance of success.
