It is near me, about 8 - 10 miles as the crow flies, but, as of yet, there is no danger. We are in the SE part of Denver (Centennial) metro-area with many houses in between us. But, a house 5 houses from us began to burn from a faulty electrical plug and before the fire department could come in about 4-5 minutes it was completley gone. The neighbors couldn't even get the cars out of the garage! The fire dept. could only spray the adjacent houses, and the fire dept. is limited because the Hayman fire is taking all the excess(?) equipment. The fire danger is extreme in the town, because wood and shingles dry out, too. We are living in a tinderbox. Fortunately, for the next two days, the weather should cooperate with lower temperatures (75 or 80 degrees) and thunderstorms. Then, it should get hot, again, 95 to 100 degrees, with no thunderstorms. That should set the stage for fire, again. Fortunately, only one life has been lost to the wild fire so far and that was an old woman with an asthmatic condition. She did not want to evacuate until it was too late. DLReagan+
