One I know to be wrong for sure: "Oak trees do not produce acorns until they are fifty years of age or older." We have lived in our present home 26 years. Shortly after moving in I bought a number of small oak trees. That is, small enough to be growing in 1 gallon containers and portable in my Dodge Omni. All have been bearing acorns for 5-10 years. These trees are now over 1 foot in diameter and 30-40 feet tall. More uban myths? John+
