Any thoughts about whether a new jurisdiction will happen? I got a call
from a gentleman here in the Dayton area. HE is not a priest but a strong
lay leader who holds sway over quite a few couples in area EcUSA church (all
9 of the EcUSA churches here are liberal). He attended our meeting last
week, loved it, and called during the week to discuss the possibility of
bringing these people with him to our parish. One issue he brought up was
the strong desire of many in his group to remain connected to the Anglican
Communion. They do not want to stay in EcUSA but have difficulty with the
thought of breaking the AC ties if they fully join the REC. He suggested
that the group attend, but retain some kind of "independent" status -
shipwrecked ecusan's waiting for another ship to come, but happy to be on
board until this alternate non-geographical jurisdiction is formed. How
would you respond?
