Actually, while dispensationalism can most definitely be traced back to
John Nelson Darby, you will find hints of premillenialism in (of all
places) the Fathers.  Ligon Duncan, PhD - New College, Edinburgh, did
his dissertation on the subject.  Interesting that it would be there,
huh?  I'm sure that the Father's comments will be in the Revelation
volume of the Ancient Critical Commentary series when it is released.
