Fr. Wiebe:

Yes, some of the "Premill" stuff can be found in a few of the
Patristics, especially Tertullian (but we know where he went!). I
believe most, though, didn't support the view. Perhaps our own Fr.
Dunlap could help out here?

And a hearty "amen" to your remarks about what used to pass for Seminary
education in the continuum. Thankfully, all of that is being "Left
Behind"!

Father: Thanks for this interesting 'by-way' down the 'Premillenial
Highway" (to nowhere). Even though Catholics do not believe in this 19c
error, the discussion has been interesting, esp. in light of the 'Left
Behind' series (The only one of these volumes I ever read was a Classics
Illustrated I once found at 'Barnes and Borders'). I'm going to follow
your Lignon source up once Epiphany is done and the ACC is released, and
thanks for sending it along.
The good Bishop Ussher had access
to much less ancient material and information of course and we need to
understand him in those lights. His ancient languages though were
probably better than 95% of the Continuum though which is perhaps a kind
of indictment on what passes sometimes for seminary education.
Christ-Mass blessings. We will remember all Chat roomers in our
intentions at the Altar this Yuletide. Blessings in Mary's Son. GDVW+
