JVDB:  Good Father.  This sentence meant more to me than anything else you
said.  I often feel like a total ignoramus on this list...

BTW, would one of the more learned fathers care to explain the three
different oils used in the church, their origin and reasons, etc?  I believe
that the oils are blessed by the Bishop at an anual service in which the
priests all renew their ordination vows...or am I wrong?  I think that's a
really neat idea...we renew our baptismal vows at the Holy Saturday Vigil
every year...this coming year I will be using the asperges for the first
time, if I can lay my hands on a holy water pot and sprinkler before then...

Do y'all do the service mention above?  I've never heard of it in the
REC...maybe in the mid-west...Dr. D.+?
