by rote and come to understand them I have no doubt(There are old
Russians in San Francisco like that who attend the ROCOR parishes (6 of
them) or the Patriarchal Cathedral of St Nicholas on Church Street
(across the street from the RC Chancery and a former Baptist hall).     
                                                                        
  Its like growing up at RC parochial school. We had Latin in class and
we had bi-lingual missals (though of course we were NOT allowed anywhere
near the Altar being at best doubtfullly baptised(c.1945)but...Blessings
and pray for the soul of Paul L. (RIP).Is your partner still Russian
