Fr. J,

That's wonderful news. Who's the chair of your Board of Examining
Chaplains, by the way?

Kodak HTML EmailFYI...

Candidate for Diaconal Orders, Mr. Ashley Colin Hewitt, passed his
Diaconal exam yesterday. After a gruelling session of questions posed by a
panel of three examiners plus the Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the
South East, Bishop James C. West, and the Diocesan Canon, Dr. Ronald Moock,
Ashley and the two other Candidates were told that they had passed.

One examiner stated that this was one of the best classes they had
examined. The Rev. Fr. Willie Hill said that Ashley deeply impressed him,
especially since he was so young in the Lord. One of his fellow candidates,
who had heard Ashley teach a Bible Study class on Acts, said that it was the
best he had ever heard. Bishop West spoke of Ashley in glowing terms, saying
that he was a very capable young man and, to prove his point, he showed
Ashley's research paper on the Creed (one of many such excellent research
papers) to all in the room.

The Vestry of The Anglican Church of St. George the Martyr had
previously unanimously voted to call Ashley as Deacon. He will be ordained
on Thursday morning at the opening Eucharist Service of the 32nd Diocesan
Synod at New Israel in Charleston.

Ashley is married to Laura and has two children, Josh and Ragan, all
of whom are very loving, supportive and proud of him!

Congratulations Ashley! May the Lord continue to bless you and lead
you in the path He has set before you.

Ashley may be reached after hours at (864) 297-7797.
