Does anyone know why there is no reply to the Priest's question "Who giveth 
this woman to be married to this man?"  Tarsitano's explanation sounds ever 
so 60'/70's.  Blunt+ indicates that there is an action (the father o freidn 
gives her hand to the bridegroom) rather than a reply and that the woman 
moves from one form of dependence to another.
