Yeah, me too. The RC's here are all over it, as are the Pentecostals. And
one Baptist church. But as for the rest, well, as you said, they seem to
generally ignore the Hispanics. Perhaps some of this is cultural, and I
know that a big part of it is linguistic. The Mexican population of our
county continues to grow, but because of the language issue they pretty much
keep to themselves. Rome was smart in that they brought in an Hispanic
Priest and planted "Our Lady of Guadalupe" Church right in the middle of the
Mexican community. Smart. And the Pentecostals have done the same thing.
As for the rest of the churches in our community, well, I'm afraid that we
either just don't know how or don't have the talent to work with them. I've
always been curious as to what Fr. Mojica is doing up in New Jersey.

As an aside, I'm always plowing around in the ECUSA web-sites looking for
tid-bits, and a portion of the site for the Diocese of Southern Ohio is
bilingual. Southern Ohio with a large Hispanic population, or any Hispanic
population for that matter; what gives? As far as I knew, the only
immigrants and foreigners in Southern Ohio were from Kentucky! :)
