You may be thinking of the Council Oak in Sioux City, Iowa
under which many Indians (native Americans who came from
the Orient?? used to gather for councils.  I understand that well
over 100 could stand there comfortably at the same time.
I don't think any of those Sioux evr got to Texas.  Traders?  Maybe.
I did not get here until 3 1/2 years ago so my history bank is slim.
