Brothers: During my trek through the Slough of Despond, my mind was still active, but the humor was dark. In fact, here is a Friday Funny, that has a little bite to it, but perhaps is not too grim. You may recall George Orwell's 1984 and his prophecy regarding language change by the politicos that he called "Newspeak." Here is a sample of our current version of Newspeak. The scene is this: after Iraq War II, Rumsfeld and the Generals have pounded the Swords into Scalpels and have found the ways of peace and have entered the medical profession. Rumsfeld is the Chief Surgeon, accompanied by the Generals in an operating room. Rumsfeld speaks: "Scalpel" Nurse "Scalpel" Rumsfeld "Clamp" Nurse "Clamp" Rumsfeld "Sponge" Nurse "Sponge" Rumsfeld "Hand Grenade" Patient, startled from his drug induced stupor, hair standing up on his head and eyes bulging exclaims, "HAND GRENADE!!??" Rumsfeld, "Yes, you see we're launching a surgical strike on your cancer."
