Apparently the theological process had worked out a suitable solution for the feminist issues for Anglicans in the West during the past 2 decades, but still had a way to go on the gay-lesbian questions. If the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who will go forth to war? ++Carey's responses to the media hardly measures up to the certainty with which a defender of the faith and teacher of truth should approach his tasks. Decades ago a Protestant minister wrote a book that had these observations about the Church. He said the Church is 1. The Teacher of the Truth (God was in Christ) 2. The Keeper of the Sacred (Sacraments, Script.,Tradition) 3. The doer of good. He also said that the Church serves as the "rememberer" for society. Not bad considering the source. It is a apparent in the messages coming from the WWAC's diocesan synods (at least in Australia, the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.) that many of the guardians of the faith have forgotten their lines and their role as they try to process what the Spirit is doing in the Church of Whats Happening Now. Oh well, "Things are up to date in Kansas City, they've gone about as fur as they kin go . . . ." On the bright side, if there is a bright side in this, there have been bishops and priests who have begun to speak up. Not all "classical Anglican leaders in NewWestminster" and other parts of the Anglican Communion are "the extremist, radical, dissident, fringy, scrofulous, reactionary, satanistical, dyspeptic, uber-conservative, unAnglican minority . . .Not Very Nice People" that the institutional smear campaigns make them out to be. Some still have a sense of humor and proportion in spite of their suffering. Charles __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
