Starting to look too much like Christmas

An op-ed piece by Mike Argento of the York Daily Record contains the 
following line:

If the Republicans in Congress want to really improve the quality of life in 
these United States, they should pass a law that makes putting up Christmas 
decorations prior to Thanksgiving punishable by death, or, at the very 
least, very horrible torture, such as imprisonment with that smug jerk from 
those Subway commercials.
