I have seen several ways of conducting Morning Prayer (1928) with sermon.

An old book I own is marked in pencil, beginning with "The Lord is in his Holy Temple , etc." and continuing, following rubrics, until Morning Prayer ends on page 20.

Then come announcements, sermon hymn, sermon, offertory, prayers, blessing (page 63) and recessional hymn with a final prayer at the church door.

Some split the service, with sermon, etc. in the middle, leaving out certain beginning portions, sometimes using prayers from another book.

It seems to me that "The Order" of Morning Prayer means that what follows is the proper "order."

Anyone have a preference, explanation or opinion?

Frank
