Jerry is correct... The "sermon" in the English Use was always in Holy Communion... MP came first then the Litany then HC. At Mt. Calvary on Sunday we have MP at 8:00am (sometimes with the Litany) then followed by HC at 9:00am. After the General Thanksgiving I have the announcements then brief "reflections" on the Collect of the day or on the First or Second Lesson or the Psalm... Then the offering... Back to the BCP 1928 to finish up with the Prayer of St. Chrysostom and the Grace. It is an adaptation that I justify under Article XXXIV The structure for MP is not Holy Communion but the synaxis.
