I'd recommend having a look at the 'Butterflame'-tuorial.

Using the samples there I was able to quickly program an animation 
for one of my programs. Everything you need for 'simple' animations 
is covered there.

You should be able to copy and paste the source to use it in your own program.

Be careful to have a new systemfolder-copy handy - in case something 
goes wrong with some handle or pointer;o)
