Editorial Notes:  

     I want to thank Glen Stewart our list master for introducing
systematic numbering of individual articles on the list.

     One use I made of them was to automatically reinsert subject lines
into the article headers for the last couple of weeks of December (They
were accidentally being omitted as noted by many.)  Incidentally,
thanks to Bill Huck for assisting and insisting on this matter which I
would otherwise have ignored.

     I recommend to contributors another use of article numbers: Cite
previous articles by number instead of quoting massively.  Then quote
selectively.
