But all I'd changed was appearance settings (font, color, boldness)... ??? In case it gives a clue, the problem seemed to build up when I was swapping between projects. That is, I was translating a test project and occasionally needed to check some simple things, so I Loaded the "pi" file of a small test project (after closing the project window of the main project), then went back to the main project, and so on. I started getting the spinning wheel of death, but could fix it by quitting and restarting. But eventually even that wouldn't work, nor would making a new project and bringing all the files back in. But trashing the prefs did the trick. BTW, perhaps I simply haven't read the manual closely enough, but there is no obvious way to swap between projects the way you could in FBII: you can open a new one's pi file but the existing project seems to stay in memory (at least, the Windows menu still holds all the files you had open). -- Robin ==================================================== Genesearch Pty Ltd E-mail: robinc@...
