Hi all, Just received some excellent feed-back from Mark Goodes. Thought it might be good to pass part of it along to those who have yet decided to help with the poorly named FB Book - which, now that I mention it, needs a snappy name. Suggestions are welcome. Prizes might be in order. At any rate, Mark suggested that we view these little programming vignettes as "How do I......". Even though it is in the same spirit as tedd's "as is"s, it really is more descriptive of the process and how we need to view our mini-demos. It also provides us with a better leaping off point. For instance, one of the big hurdles I faced when I first started out was: "How Do I use Apple Events?" Fortunately, Staz had examples of exactly that very thing. At this point I don't remember where I got what I use, but I do know that it took me several hours - may days?? - to dope the thing out. "How Do I use Sound?", etc... and my very latest - something I worked out with a hint or two from Al Staffieri Jr. - "How Do I use Arrow Keys to Scroll an Edit Field?" All total, that little gem took me almost 4 hours from beginning to end. So, can I have some guys commit themselves to providing a "How Do I...?" or two or three. Sorry, tedd, no more "as is"s, but it was useful at the time.
