mine too.
that's not what i was talking about.

i was talking about adding text or pictures to an e-publication
in process, as an example.  that is _not_ a preference-type thing.

yes, of course.  that's a finished product.
my apps are authoring tools, to create the product in the first place.

(some e-pub apps let you annotate the publication, though,
so a read-only environment wouldn't let you do that.)
