(subscribe to the list and see the traffic there...) Things I must keep in mind while developing the API are: - Full compatibility and consistency with other Valentina products - Easy portability on other platforms (readability) - Expandability and ease of code maintenance for future versions of Valentina - Speed The Valentina API (or driver as I call it) will be fully compatible with FBII and FB^3. (68K and PPC) Interfacing via header files is perfectly possible and no, you don't have to know how to call Valentina unless you want to spend weeks writing a driver for it like I do :-) Just create a simple paramblock and let 'HyperShell for Valentina' do the dishes for you :-) I'm still working with Ruslan to implement some important functions. Believe me, FutureBASIC users will have the most feature rich version of Valentina. I've spent hours and hours analysing the C++ code just to annoy Ruslan with code modifications, additions and speed optimizations :-) Ruslan really is a nice guy and I appreciate is patience and help. (It is now official, Ruslan never eat or sleep) Valentina is a very young product so you can expect a lot more in the near future (server transactions, even better SQL support etc.). I have a hard time keeping up with the changes myself :-) 'HyperShell for Valentina' will come with a very complete reference manual specifically written for FutureBASIC (in eDOC format that you can drop in the 'Help' folder of FB^3). HyperShell 4V also has some very interesting functions not implemented in Valentina itself. It should be available somewhere in 2013 :-) No joke, I'll probably release it incrementally... There are so much things to do. Stay tuned...
