The problem is apparently a Clipboard problem with the colors of that image
or something.

If I take out a single row of black pixels on the other side of the 2 pixel
wide gray area on the far right, then the gray copies correctly. If the
whole thing is that gray, copies correctly.

Twilight Zone in Pixelville here. Strange thing is that Photoshop corrects
the color upon the paste. Are there any known documented or non-documented
clipboard (palette?) issues anyone knows about?
