I disagree that it is bad manners to use HTML in e-mails - used
appropriately, it can make it much more readable and organised (headings,
dot-lists, different colours etc), without adding too much bandwidth. As
long as you know your recipient's e-mail program will display it, that is!

What really gets my goat is those HTML e-mails that automatically fetch
stuff from the web, so if you try to read them off-line, they keep trying to
dial back in. Why do so many people assume that the entire world has a
permanent cable connection to the net?
