on the OS X/9 front. I see no inconvenience to an app, under 9, launching
the corresponding mail client that the user has chosen for 9. although 9
can't "see" X, it would be possible to seek out the config files [catmove?]
as all nix files are text, and look up the info, but this goes against the
grain of InternetConfig which was, and is "let the user have one place where
she notes all Internet Config apps, and i will sort things out from there".
Until either the conceptors of IC [stairways software] or those who have
adopted it [apple - quite rightly] sort out this situation, we, as
programmers, are doing the right thing.
we could, i suppose... [bending over backwards] have a config panel,
indicate in that panel the information culled from IC [like tedd's e-mail
address :-) ] and invite the user to override the information if desired, or
if under Classic in OS X world...

[i use Outlook Express under 9 and under Classic/X, so this doesn't affect
