thanks for the precisions herbie,

i will add [pedantic to the last], that technically the above are not
ligatures, which are formed from two letters in the language charset, but
diacritics, that is the addition of an accent or sign - from outside the
charset - to an existing glyph.

that is, of course, providing that i managed to read your signs correctly
[looks like a G and a tadpole to me, or more precisely, a backwards cedilla,
no? perhaps an ogonek? [i met those when i had to do a series of typefaces
in polish!]].
