To answer your question, the maximum number of post per thread is 
limited to one more than what Bill (the list mom) will tolerate. He's 
usually a reasonable guy, but don't tell him I said that.

We really don't have a maximum number -- especially, when the subject 
line goes to [X-FB] -- which means that the post is off-topic for FB. 
However, it is usually considered polite that when the topic goes 
far-enough or long-enough off topic that it be posted to the X-FB 
list.
