I reinstalled MacOS X for the 5 or 6th time (I keep removing it because it's almost too weird to use) but I've decided to try again. I'm going to try again, hopefully I'll force myself to adapt to it.

One thing I've noticed is that although MacOS X itself supports multiple users, the Classic environment doesn't.

I set my computer up with two users, myself and my roommate. I have the same users setup under MacOS 9. While I have set things up so that MacOS X applications use separate preferences for each user, Classic applications are limited to the startup volume's System Folder.

So can anyone think of any workarounds for this?

I have two volumes right now and both have System Folders but I'd like to leave it alone and not use it to start Classic.

I suppose I could repartition my drive so that I have a small separate volume for each user. One thing that I'm thinking, but I'm not sure will work, is to create two disk images, each with a separate system folder. It would get launched at login and would contain the proper System Folder for each user.
