CSR, You don't need to have OS X to compile and run a Carbon app. However, you will need CarbonLib installed in Mac OS 8.6 to 9 (BTW, you apparently have the latest and greatest on your 7300 -- 1.6). Carbon apps will run natively on OS 9 AND OS X -- one of the beauties of Carbon. You should be able to compile and run for Carbon on your 7300 running 8.6 now. I tested the Robert Purves code I sent you in different compilation configurations on my machine and found this out: The _keyUpEvt only seems to work in Carbon complies. It will not print "key up" in cpu68k, cpuFat, or cpuPPC compile options -- only Carbon. I suggest you try compiling for Carbon on the PM 7300 running OS 8.6 to see what happens. Try it with the following options set: Runtime : Rntm Appearance.Incl CPU : Carbon Let us know what happens, On Friday, December 6, 2002, at 08:36 AM, csr@... wrote: >> More questions, >> >> (1) Have you tried compiling as a Carbon app, and > > No, I don't have OS X. > >> (2) What version of CarbonLib is installed on each of these machines? >> They both should be able to run the latest (should be 1.6). > > Quadra: no CarbonLib > PM 7300: CarbonLib 1.6 > >> Also, did the original code from Robert Purves work? > > Not works.
