My PowerTower Pro 200 (604e) is upgraded with a Sonnet Crescendo PCI
400 MHz. It is fast enough in X 10.1.....but read on.....

Purchased OS 9.1 on ebay for only $30 or so. Installed X on my
external hard drive and kept OS 9.1 on my internal hard drive.

I used the Sonnet X installer and all seemed to be fine (i.e. X boots
and runs) except for one problem (and this could be a problem with
the way I installed it): Every time I try to boot back to OS 9.1 on
my internal hard drive, the system file is corrupted and I have to
re-install OS 9.1. Until I have time to troubleshoot my OS X install,
I'm not booting in X anymore. Again, this could be an issue with my
install and not roadblock to using OS X (in fact, X runs fine---I
only see a problem when booting back to 9.1), but maybe this will
give you some advance warning since you seem to be considering a
similar configuration.

Good luck!

Brian
