Hi all,
There seems to be a consensus that Applescript has
its place in our FB arsenal in spite of being *slow*.
Applescript seems to be :
-- easy to program
-- easy to integrate with FB, in compiled form
or not (see list archives and Apple's Q&A 1026).
-- powerful
-- more accessible that Carbon
Further, I recall that Otto Schlosser once mentioned the team
documentating Applescript winning an industry prize.
So I raked over my downloads since 2000 and came up with:
-- an HTML version of Apple doc published by Apple in 1999
written by a team headed by Steve Evangelou
(my edition updated May 1999; HTML but appently originally
in PDF and/or paper). No URL recorded but I got to it
via Steve Bender's TeX-Edit site. Over 1 Meg compressed.
-- an HTML version of AppleScript Finder Guide.
Doc published by Apple in 1996 written by a team with lead
writer Sean Cotter. Part of Inside Mac? Over 350Ko compressed.
Now, what am I missing? Maybe a brilliant short tutorial...
Have'nt reexamined www.apple.com/applescript/ for quite a long
time. Hope someone will do that for us. My modem access has been
very poor lately.
Cheers
Laurent S.
