You could connect an external drive to the old laptop and do a Carbon Copy Clone of it to the external drive and then boot the new laptop from the external drive and do a CCC to your internal drive on the new laptop. Of course, you'd want to take all the usual precautions. I was trying to think of a way to use an ethernet crossover cable to just connect the two computers and do this ,but it gets messy fast. I was think of using CCC to selectively copy folders instead of doing everything. No guarantees from the management. I haven't tried to use CCC selectively but it should be possible. This assumes you know which folders to copy that are related to your applications. Hmmm. Brian
