Ronald:
Your best bet is the Adobe portable document format (PDF),
licenced to Apple and built into recent MacOS-X feline lifeforms.
Printing to PDF is straightforward: press the PDF button in the
Print dialog window. Alternatively you can create a PDF from your
print-ready document by setting up a virtual PostScript printer (see
Apple Help), dragging the document icon thither, and opening the
resulting .ps (PostScript) file with Preview.
If you're using MacOS 9.x or older you'll need to get your hands
on a copy of Acrobat Distiller, which sadly is not free. Very much
not, in fact. You'd probably be better off joining the stampeding X-
herd, hardware specs permitting. (Not to worry, nobody here but us
Tiger-lemmings).
