I believe this is a known bug in Emailer Lite that I saw reported on 
MacFixit or MRP or somewhere else recently. Apple has made it pretty 
clear that there will _not_ be any fixes or further development on 
Emailer, so either change to full Emailer, which does not have the bug, 
or look for a replacement mail product.
