I understood Derick's post to be an invitation for the dispensational
brothers on the forum to do that very thing. At the conference I went
to last week one of the pastors used a great illustration to highlight
the difference. I will do my best to recount it. In 1905 a man
promised his 5 year old son that he would give him a horse on his 25th
birthday so that he could ride all over the country side and travel
wherever he wanted. In 1925 on the young man's 25th birthday his father
gave him a brand new 1925 Ford Model T (this was before the boycott on
Ford for their support of homosexual causes ... :-) ). Did the man
break his promise to his son? Or did he improve on the promise and give
him something much better than the boy could have imagined 20 years
before. Unfortunately the hard lined literalist would be demanding the
horse rather than appreciating the car which was far more magnificent.
The illustration has it's limits and I am not sure if I got it word
for word but hopefully you get the idea.

Peace,
Steve
