Derick,
Thx for the clarification. I thought hard about saying what I said but
figured if there was a place to get a good answer PF was it.
I am glad to hear the SBC has tightened down on those who deny the
fundamentals. You are right, there are always those who will give lip
service but that is true in every group.
Many times people will ask me about a church and I will tell them how I
feel about IFB and why I think a good one would be a good choice but I
am quick to let them know I am not "anti SBC" and that I personally know
of only a handful of SBC churches I wouldn't go to.
Tonight we are starting the FAITH program that the SBC created. It is
things like this that I would like to see me and my IFB brothers create
and promote.
Do you guys do FAITH?
Please pray for us as we start tonight.

DG,
The Cooperative Program has been revamped in recent years and each
missionary and person we support should uphold the Baptist Faith and
Message 2000. Now, like with anything, there are people that are
supported who give lip service to the doctrinal statement but few if
any. In fact, when the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 wasn enacted,
some missionaries were "fired" because they could not uphold parts of
our doctrinal statement like the truth of Scripture. So, in some ways I
am proud of our denomination in areas like this. Yet, I will be the
first to say that there are things we support that I believe, while not
outrightly violating our statement, does make me a little queazy.
