To a point I agree with you, but the issue is that we "repent" because we
are "drawn" and because God regenerates us.  Or else, we cannot repent. 
THe issue is whether we can repent without the Work of God... and whether
we can resist that work of God and not repent.  John 6 seems to be the
passage that I usually use when Christ discusses us being drawn and all
those drawn will come to Him.
