Ray,
I like the question. However, like most any question it has a lot of
tentacles, but I will attempt an answer, a short answer.
You asked the question 2 ways: What proof is there that we are Christians?
and > But, what proof do we offer the world that we are Christians? I will
answer the second form of your question.
PROOF OFFERED TO THE WORLD. ----I believe the best proof we can offer the
World is to OBEY God's commands. Many a martyr has died at the hands of the
enemy, but the enemy knew full well that person was a Christian because of
their obedience to the Word. Many a Roman crowd marlved at the Christian who
was OBEDIENT unto death, and they knew that person was a real Christian.
Those who led Polycarp to his death, though not Christians, believed him to
be a real Christian because of his obedience to God and his Word.
Good question. You should get many good answers.
