You are right, they are not the same.  But it is interesting, is it
not, that God didn't use a woman to write Scripture.  Why do you think
that is?

Do we use the exception to make the rule?  If we were to use the
dominant pattern of leadership and proclamation in the Bible, would
that be male leadership or female leadership?

That's a whole other issue, one that touches upon the cessationalism.
I fail to see how a modern "thus saith the Lord" statement, coming
from a man or a woman, could be anything other than adding to
Scripture.  Why are modern prophetic utterances of a lessor quality?

I'm assuming that you are using "men" in the gender inclusive sense in
the above statement.  I agree.  Does He give the same gifts to all men
and women?  Does He not have the right to restrict certain gifts to
certain people or to one sex?
