No, ... not Pentecostal. .... I love and respect them as Christian
brothers, ... but do not agree with many of their beliefs and practices.
Many Pentecostals tend toward Arminian beliefs, and I do not accept that as
balanced theology in light of the whole Bible. I do not accept that one
keeps his salvation by the way he lives, as some Pentecostals seem to
believe, ... or that a person can lose his salvation and then later get
saved again. There is no example of that in the Bible. Also, I have
difficulty with some Pentecostal's teachings about entire sanctification.
But "yes" to Bible truths that religious tradition has robbed us of in the
church today.
The Jesus of the New Testament is the Savior, Healer, Baptizer in the Holy
Spirit, and soon coming King.
My KJB says that He is the Unchanging God, ... the same yesterday, today,
and forever. If He is the same, ... then He hasn't changed. If He has
changed, ... He isn't the same.
I believe that the Bible teaches that Jesus is still moved with compassion
for the sick. When believers today cry out for mercy (healing), Jesus still
says
" ... according to your faith be it unto you" Matt 9:29.
Why does much of the church world ignore and neglect the healing ministry
that was so important to Christ Jesus that He spent two thirds of His time
engaged in doing it??? Why do so few Baptist churches practice James
5:14-16??? If we claim to believe the Bible, shouldn't we follow the only
instructions that the Bible gives for Christians when they get sick??? Most
Baptists call the doctor before they even think of calling the preacher.
Sometimes the preacher finds out that his members are in the hospital days
after they are admitted, ... he is the last one to find out that they are
sick. How can God bless and help us if we ignore His clear directions in
the Bible???
Have you ever read John R Rice's testimony about how he had surgery planned
for a chronic throat problem and then read for his devotions just before the
surgery about King Asa????
The fact that the ministry of Divine Healing has been abused and misused by
some flakey people does not detract from its validity and importance.
I am sorry you have difficulty in following some of my posts. I endeavor
to be clear and concise, .... but I guess we aren't always as clear as we
think we are.
